Fischerman House

Fischerman House was the first fully 3D modeled/textured scene I worked on. Completing this piece was not only a huge learning experience, but also a really fun one. I based this piece on a concept I saw from Baptiste Boutié. Something about the slant and chunkiness of the house reminded me of Howl's Moving Castle, one of my favorite animated films, and I knew right away I wanted to replicate it in 3D.

Modeled in Maya. Paint Effects for Foliage. Maya Fluids FX for Fog. Textured in Substance Painter and Photoshop. Rendered and lit in Arnold.

Moonboy

Moonboy (concept by Suheb Zako) was the first character focused piece I worked on! I really loved how this character looked like he was on a mission. That sense of determination and drive in characters in animated movies is something that always inspires me, so it was something I really wanted to capture in this piece.

Modeled in Maya. XGen for Hair. Textured in Substance Painter. Rendered and Lit in Arnold.

Robot Hang Out

Another element of animated movies that always impacts me are those moments that capture friendship. Whatever fantastical worlds the characters find themselves in, it's the relationships between the characters that grounds everything in reality and makes it relatable and believable. That's exactly why I loved Gop Gap's concept art here.

Modeled in Maya. Straw Hat procedurally modeled in Houdini. Paint Effects for Foliage. XGen for Hair. Maya Fluids FX for Clouds. Textured in Substance Painter and Photoshop. Rendered and Lit in Arnold.

Forager's Cabin

Forager's Cabin was a piece I worked on from my imagination. I had been imagining a fictional character who forages for food in a forest somewhere in Eastern Europe, where my family is from. I was inspired to include ingredients my family traditionally uses in our cooking like dill and beets.

Modeled in Maya and Houdini. Potted plants and set extension modeled with PaintEffects. Cloth using nCloth. Textured in Substance Painter. Procedural shading, lighting and rendering in Arnold.

This was also a way for me to use baskets from a procedural modeling tool I created in Houdini!

101 Dalmatians Living Room

I love 101 Dalmatians and watched it so frequently as a kid, so I really wanted to model this set designed by Ken Anderson! I loved how whimsical and detailed it all was!

Modeled in Maya. Plants in Paint Effects. Cloth in nCloth. Rendered in Arnold.

Here is my demo reel where you can see more of my work!
