Time Portal Landscape

Added some spikes around the portal, which will be changed to a rock texture, and started to texture the portal.

Some initial textures for my different points in time green one is in the "present" and the other is in the past.

Still working on the textures which will probably change somewhat, and want to get some mixed colours in the landscapes, and need to put some on the other objects.

I want to create a 3D animation with valley landscape with surrounding hills, in the middle is a portal which is overgrown, (inspired by the Stargate tv series) its a few thousand years old, the ground has bomb craters from the scarring of war/battle, ancient defensive points are still there (sandbag walls etc) and some armor pieces from soldiers are still present despite the passage of time. 

 Two characters of military/explorer background explore the ancient battlefield and especially the portal, which they activate. The portal shudders to life after being inactive for thousands of years, when the portal activates the two characters step through to the same place they just left, time is frozen expect for them, they look around and see the battlefield frozen in mid battle.

 The portal sent them back thousands of years to when the battle happened, soldiers are around them stuck in battle, guns in the process of firing , stuck in the air as explosions throw them around. They explore the scene the portal glowing and active behind them.

 They discover that some of the soldiers have the same insignia as them, these soldiers had been their ancestors. Shortly after the portal starts to flash in pulses before a bright light envelopes them when the light is gone they are back in the present with the knowledge of what happen here so long ago.

They turn and start walk away towards a ship in the distance ready to return to their home planet.

My Portal got some inspiration from the Stargate form the tv series.
