During the quadruped project at The Animation Workshop, I designed and created my own version of a Hellhound. The goal of this project was to take a creature through the entire lookdev-pipeline and then later integrate it into a live-action shot.
I used different software throughout the pipeline:
modeling - Maya
texturing -Mari & Substance Painter(mainly for smart-masks)
shading, lighting & rendering -Vray for Maya
I wanted to create a hell creature that wasn't based on fire and brimstone but rather on the ghostly and endless Asphodel fields of greek mythology. From there on I used animals like bats. woves, deers, and the mexican Xoloitzcuintli as reference.
