Ku'e

This is Ku'e, a Nyonya kuih inspired companion for the main character in my Basic Character Design class. I was inspired by the multitude of kuih that we have in Peranakan culture; being Peranakan myself I chose some of my favourite types of kuih to be incorporated in his final design. 

The idea of the creature was a goldfish, pig, kuih chang and kuih pie tee mixture as you can see from the idea exploration sketches.

I did a bunch of options before finalising a few designs alongside the fully rendered main character. In the end, the first of the last batch of designs was selected with some changes to be made in the final render.
