Update - 20 Nov 2020

The first step to my texturing process was deciding on what kind of bus to make and what sort of story it would tell. I always admired the artstyle of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth. He was famous for his custom muscle and tuner cars of the 60's and 70's along with his crazy cartoon characters. The backstory I imagined for this bus was that it was owned by a former surfer during the 60's adorned with a mural on the side of some crazy character. I imagined the former surfer having a son decades later and that this would be his first car. It wouldn't be in the best condition, but it wouldn't be a rotting rust heap also.

With my story set, the next step would be to just get my colors, metal, and spec maps in place before anything else. Right now it looks fresh off the lot without any personality to it at all. I wanted an earthy color scheme that isn't too flashy, but evoked the style of the 60's. Wood Paneling, drab yellows, greens, and desaturated reds and browns are kind of the look I'm going for. I wanted a car that would have had the least favorite color scheme as opposed to a glistening red and white marvel.
