How to Pay Rent in San Francisco
This is some of the concept art for a nonexistent 2D animated series called How to Pay Rent in San Francisco where 3 roommates pawn off inter-dimensional artifacts to pay their rent! The concept art shown explores some of the main character's designs as well as some world building.
This is a concept for a nonexistent 2D animated series called How to Pay Rent in San Francisco. The concept first got started as a school assignment but is now a personal project that I continue to work on! The premise of the series is 3 roommates that pawn off inter-dimensional artifacts to make ends meet and pay their rent!
Inspiration for the main art style of this series came from referencing elements from other animated series such as Craig the Creek, Totally Spies and Hilda.
Image 1: This is a character sheet for Ew. Ew is a runner and the most athletic of the group, so most of her outfits are either ath-leisure or athletic-wear.
Image 2: This is a character sheet for Deen. Deen prefers reading books and watering her plants that cover the window sill of the apartment over socializing with people. She would spend all her money on plants and books if she could.
Image 3: This is a character sheet for Yenom. You can almost always find Yenom making accessories and handbags in her spare time! She's an incredibly hard worker and is good at her craft as a fashion icon!
Image 4: This is a line up of the main three characters, Ew, Deen and Yenom. This is them in their mission gear. They always look like this when going off to a mission. Ew has almost no upper-body strength as a runner, so she carries anything she needs for missions in the bags attached to her hips and legs! Deen keeps tabs on the information regarding the missions from a watch around her wrist. When activated, a hologram of information and other electronic tools can be used to help the girls on their missions through dimensions. This wristband is also their only escape from a dimension. Since Yenom is incredibly crafty, she carries 2 handbags with her that carry trinkets and parts she can use to build contraptions that can help the girls out of sticky situations.
Image 5-7: The cool thing about this show, aside from inter-dimensional travel of course, is that every time the girls go to different dimension, the style of the animation changes! Images 5-7 illustrate potential different styles the dimensions could be when the girls go on different dimensional missions!
