Morrowind fanart: Vivec
A model of the character o The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. It's a realtime character, I even manage to export the mesh to the original game.
Marmoset Toolbag renders:
Sketchfab version:
Morrowind screens (with graphic extender MGE XE PBR edition):
Since the original location is very dark, I moved the character to a more lighted place with console command.
Yes, with MGE XE renderer it looks not so good as with Marmoset one, but the alternative shader system from Morrowind Code Patch makes it look even worse:
Though it still looks good for a tweaked engine of the 2001 year :D
UVs & topology of the mesh:
A bit of technical information:
body mesh - 23 508 tris, 4k textures
equipment - 4 853tris, 2k textures
low-poly meshes were made in 3ds max
sculpting in Zbrush
texturing in Substance Painter (+ a custom substance made in Substance Designer)
render setup - Marmoset toolbag
export to the Morrowind engine - nif-plugin for 3ds max & NifSkope Tool
in-game screens were made with the original Morrowind engine with MGE XE PBR Edition
concepts: I used the collection of concepts made by the author of the character Michael Kirkbride on his own site (https://www.c0da.es/c0da/artguide). Most of the concepts arts were also published in Artbook of Morrowind.
