Stylised Medieval Town
After a long day of travelling, every adventurer needs a safe place to stop! A place where they can gather supplies, rest at an inn, and maybe get some new quests! That was the theme I went for when I made this modular town. I made it all from scratch by myself for a uni project, and recently updated it. :)
Stylised Modular Medieval Town: Made in Maya, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine.
I made this project originally for a university submission, but have since updated it. I wanted to create an environment that would be suitable for an RPG. This town would be somewhere you would find while exploring, where you would stock up on supplies, heal and maybe find some side quests! The houses are all modular pieces that I modelled in Maya. This was the first time I've ever worked in Unreal Engine, and also the first time using a modular workflow but I think it was pretty successful!
The youtube video shows the development process, from start to finish, including a screen recording of the environment in action!
The process view shows the wireframe, ambient occlusion, and clay renders, of the modular pieces, as well as some development shots of texturing and building.
The image row shows some close ups of the market place stalls. My personal favourite is the cheese!
