Wild West Environment + other projects
My name is Linn Wilhelmsson and I'm currently studying 3D game art at Playgroundsquad. I have been studying there for about a year now, and these are some of the projects I made during that time.
Wild West town
This was a 3 week long school project in which I decided to work in Unreal Engine 4 for the first time. This was my first time experimenting with modularity for a bigger environment and also things like blend textures. I'm happy with how it turned out but wish to revisit it sometime to add more unique props.
Folding screen
This was a speed prop made in a day during a speed prop week at school. Since the model isnt't that complicated this was an excercise in texturing and optimizing. I'm the most happy with how the ornaments on the top turned out.
3594 tris (1198 tris for each screen)
2k textures
Fishing pier
This was a shorter school assignment where we were supposed to make a "low poly" diorama or character using only base colour and only flat lighting. I used a mixture of vertex colour, alpha planes and gradiant textures to fake the lighting. It was really fun to explore a more cartoony style since I mostly like to do things in a more realistic style.
Using "Stephan's Sketchbook: Strange water home" as reference (His website is no longer accessable)
