2020 Collection
The following collection is part of my work from my first semester of FX and Lighting at Rising Sun Pictures. I have really enjoyed using a range of software including Houdini, Nuke and Substance Painter to further my knowledge and skills in VFX. Thanks for watching :)
This shot was inspired by the upside-down tunnels in Stranger Things. The cave asset was modelled, textured and lit in Houdini. I strived to create a sense of depth within the cave using a variety of lights and shades of blue.
Above is a work in progress render of my final FX project at Rising Sun Pictures. I had an interest in exploring vellum as it is a relatively new tool in Houdini, therefore used vellum cloth to create the curtains and newspaper. Debris, dirt and dust particles were also added to the scene to create a sense of mystery and neglect.
In this shot I worked on the smoke simulation using Houdini. I decided to go for quite a dense smoke with a slow dissipation rate and high disturbance.
