Redesigning a Mosin-Nagant Rifle

In this project I set out to create a more modern Mosin rifle, but also make it a heavier weapon in both firepower and looks.

First I blocked in a Mosin with a PU sight to get a look at the proportions and get a feel for the shapes that make up a sniper rifle. 

I then started playing around with the stock, trying to keep some of it wooden to maintain that vintage look while redesigning parts of it to give it a heavy and more devastating feel. 

Going for a chunkier and heavier sniper rifle I ended up increasing the size of the forestock and lowering the sniper scope.
