My entry to the contest consists of my concept art for a post-apocalyptic world where a virus is spreading at a rapid pace, where at this moment a lot of people are cheering at the arrival of a very well known scientist that has delved into many cases of unsolvable diseases and other pathogens.
I hopped onto blender and started making the platform and the floor itself, and started adding a few details and additional assets around, although I felt as if the people that were being drawn really didn't give off the right vibe, they seemed more to be at a football match, rather than welcoming an important figure.
The grimness that I wanted to show the viewers was going as expected... So I decided to darken everything, make it rain, and using that darkness to illuminate the powerful shadows radiating from these soldiers, using only a few simple white and black brush strokes on the fence really changed the impact of the helicopters light shining down.
I still feel like I have a lot to learn, as this was the first time I really delved into light and shadow on this scale, and I can honestly say that I really liked the outcome, I would love to revisit this project and try to upgrade it even more once I have obtained the experience and knowledge.
