How I have advanced from a bit over a year ago to where I am now.

Hello, my name is Julian. I am a 13 year-old who is trying to learn and improve at creating things through computer programs. Just a little over a year ago, I started my first modeling project, which was creating to lightsaber (following a tutorial, of course).

Later on, after completing many different projects to learn the basics of computer graphics ranging from simulations to motion graphics, I decided to do a challenge. The challenge was that I had to create some kind of scifi/robot arm and hand every day of one week. I did this so that I could optimize my workflow and learn to not get caught up in tiny details that aren't even visible in the render. I didn't have too much time throughout the week but I completed every day and here are my renders:

Following that, I made many different models and scenes, some of which turned out well, some of which didn't.

I continued on participating in contests, finishing projects, and occasionally challenges in order to get more practice and improve my skill. One of those projects was to design a futuristic handgun, and this is what I created:

At the time, it was the best I could do. Looking back at it, I saw many things that I would change, such as the sharp edge on the grip. As a result, I determined that I would design a rifle as my next challenge. I had to do a lot of research on how firearms function and what the manufacturing process is for creating them. I eventually was able to design the rifle in Blender.

The CR-7 is compact bullpup rifle. It is fully ambidextrous with a downward-facing ejection port allowing for greater versatility and usability by many people.

That was my most recent project in my CG progression. I still have much more to learn and I will continue to advance my skills and ability to create using computer graphics. Thank you for following along.
