Hello, this is my first project in Unreal Engine using Megascans and Quixel Suite. Being able to make something like this in one afternoon is still surreal to me. I'll keep developing it and hope to make it into a VR environment in future.

This is my first ever test with Unreal Engine 4 and Megascans. I was able to build this environment in one afternoon without having any prior experience with the tools and workflow.
I found Quixel's YouTube Tutorial really helpful to get me started.


I started watching some tutorials on youtube to understand the workflow. I also looked up inspiration on Pinterest to get a better idea.


Then I started modeling the Tori Gate in Maya since it was not available as a Megascan...yet!

I also took it Mixer to try and paint it with realistic materials to make sure that it fits well in the environment. This was also my first time trying out Mixer. I was fairly surprised and looking forward to using it more.

In the meantime I was also testing how Megascans work and how I can use them to create this environment. Fair to say the first attempt didn't look good.

After this attempt, I was able to understand how quality and quantity worked. Also giving me a foundation on how I wanted to approach the next design.

I was also able to test cinematic features in Unreal Engine and would like to work more.
