I'm a recent graduate of AAU, and my passion is drawing characters. I am a vis dev artist, but I also enjoy illustration. This is a collection of my designs so far, for a proposal for a science fantasy graphic novel.

Pinkshift is my thesis proposal for a science fantasy graphic novel for ages teens and older. The story follows a human who wakes up in a hospital on a dying alien planet, with no memories of his life. He has to escape to Earth before the alien planet becomes inhabitable, and tries to regain his memories in the process. The tone of the story is surreal and psychological.

This is my character sheet for my protagonist. I mostly enjoyed expression sheets, where I started to think about abstract shapes in the hair, which I started to play with more later during my revisiting of this character.

This is the antagonist, who works as the protagonist's doctor, however he is not a very good one, as his bedside manner can be described as abrasive.

This character is an additional caretaker to the protagonist, and takes on the archetype of mentor. His job is mostly to monitor the patient's mental well-being.

This is a prop page for a syringe that would be used in the alien hospital where most of the story takes place.

Since completing the previous works, I've decided to revisit my project and experiment with more abstract shapes. This is a page of additional exploration for the protagonist. I want to keep working on making him seem sickly, miserable, and emotionally distant through the heavy feel of his hair, along with the way it covers half of his face.
