Character Design 2020

The below is a collection of character work, portraits and studies in which I have completed within the last year as either assignments or personal pieces. My aim has been to improve my skillset whilst exploring new styles that I have been drawn to.

I decided to follow a character design brief for creating a secondary character within the Alice in Wonderland universe. My aim for this was to create a 'Queens guard' type character who would accompany The Knave of Hearts. I decided to base this character off of my family pet, Khan. I felt like creating a character based off of a Staffordshire bull terrier would be fitting as there are many anthropomorphised characters in the 2010 Alice in Wonderland film.

Personally I find doing portrait studies to be an enjoyable and therapeutic task. The following few pieces were done with the idea of experimenting with different styles as well as trying to better my knowledge of proportions and the human face.
