Round of applause for our sponsors

"After waiting a lifetime for his McDonald’s order, a living dead janitor named Jan’s meal is snatched by Mexerica, a cunning and hungry raccoon. In an apocalyptic food court, a life versus death race for fast food begins."

Following the story of Jan and Mexerica, "Hunger" is the first episode of what we conceived as a set of episodes reminiscent to Roadrunner and Hannah Barbera Cartoons. This pilot was developed during 6 intense and ongoing months at VFS. There was an idea. “The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something...” wait, that’s another movie, but same principle!

We were inspired by Love, Death and Robot's The Three Robots and Blade Runner 2049. We hope you enjoy our WIP!

THE FOOD COURT AT THE MALL

The Food Court was created using Maya, Substance Painter and Designer, and Redshift Proxies. As per our student habits and diet, we found inspiration in a popular fast food franchise, cooing invaders and overwhelming capitalism.

MEET MEXERICA

This feisty raccoon was created in Maya and Substance Painter, it's furriness comes from XGen and it's sassyness from it's animator, Alejandro.

MEET the JAN-itor
Jan was created with Maya, ZBrush and Substance Painter and Designer. His beat down outfit with Marvelous Designer. Jan and Raech, Jan's animator, have many things in common, like an insatiable void-like hunger.

Besides the trailer we wanted to share some of the compositing progress Kathleen Helter has done.
