3D Linear Environment for Animated Piece
This is the 3D environment for my university course FMP. I am only submitting the environment portion because production on the animated portion is still on-going.
3D Linear Environment for an Animation Piece
Hi, my name is Jacky and my submission will be my 3D environment that I created for my final major project at my university course, this is a solo project. My final major project brief was to create an animated piece/short film so I decided to create it in the form of an atmospheric first person exploration. I spent the whole of my final academic year on this project, about 4 months on pre-production/idea generation and a further 6 months on production. For this submission I will only be showcasing the environment because I have not completed the animation portion yet.
My animation is set in a fictional abandoned grande submarine with art-deco designs. I was heavily inspired by Bioshock and Close to the Sun for this as they both had very similar design themes. I was also inpired by the design and scale of the Titanic. I made everything apart from ~3 or so assets as I became really short on time (I got these assets from marketplaces). I used Unreal Engine, Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer and some Zbrush for my project.
This Project was a big learning experience because it was my first proper environment project at this scale and I definitely learnt a lot.

I'll try to add a render farm of my assets and better renders of my materials here some time in the future (There are a lot of assets and I'm still really busy!)

Art Deco Sculpture No.1 3D: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/scan-art-deco-3d-1222259
Art Deco Chair: https://flippednormals.com/downloads/armchair-game-asset/
I edited and re-textured both assets to better fit my scene.
I used some Unreal Engine Starter Content assets like the sparks particle, I also took the fog sheets and lightbeam BPs from the Unreal Blurprints demo.
