“Deokso” is where I live.

Most of my inspiration comes from this neighborhood and my friends. I have experienced and seen often in my life. There was a cat that roamed the neighborhood, and in my mind, I was the feline. It was me that went out into the world. It was me that gradually climbed into the night to look at the city full of small suns. There was longing.

“Deokso” is the story of our reality.

I want to deliver a message through various forms of space and light.

The message will be guided by the cat in “Deokso.”

Maya, Substance Painter, Nuke, After Effects, and Megascans were used to make this art.

This video generates contrast through spaces that separate from bottom to top.

The camera creates a moving line from top to bottom to emphasize this concept. Above and below this line is a thick fog filled with bright lights. Each light comes with different feelings. I looked to cyberpunk movies to make “Deokso” because they successfully contained dystopian elements with the future’s colorful city in the image. These films convey messages with their use of details and color.

I paid close attention to texture when I made the city below: What does rust look like? How does moss grow? How do stains turn?

I focused on the composition of the city above: What silhouette would be best to make the city appear full?

Lastly, various elements were chosen and placed for individual reason.
