Sierra Emmerson - 2020 Portfolio
Hi, My name is Sierra. I am a self taught 3d artist. Always open to feedback.
Opel Blitz
My goal for this project was to challenge myself to create a bigger game asset. I grew up playing first person shooter games and wanted my next project to feel like it belongs in that world. I have modelled a few vehicles in the past but have never textured them, so I set out to fully complete the WW2 military truck, Opel Blitz.
Modelling was done in Maya. Baking and texturing was done in Substance Painter. I used Marmoset Toolbag for lighting and rendering.
Rotary Phone
I love vintage objects and had a lot of fun working on this piece.
My biggest challenge during this project was the flourishes in the middle of the phone. I knew that this was going to be one of the main focuses of the piece, so I did a few tests to make sure I got it correct. In the end, I ended up drawing the designs in Photoshop, modelling it in Maya for the high poly and using the bend tool to wrap it around the cylinder. After unwrapping, I brought it into Substance Painter for baking/texturing and then Marmoset for lighting and rendering.
1960's Duncan Parking Meter
This project was inspired by a video I saw of an old 1960's parking meter being restored.
This Duncan Parking Meter was modelled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset. I also used Photoshop to create the labels.
