Virtual Society

Virtual Society is a 3D motion graphics story that critiques the internet phenomenon of social media. Personally I believe that social media isn't making us feel more connected, it is making us feel more isolated. I hope my project can express this and make us consider detaching ourselves from social media for a moment to focus on real-life relationships, friends and nature in the physical world.

The project is about Sam, an excessive social media user who has been pulled into the place I call Virtual Society. Here he's confronted by many enemies, including AI robots, an internet troll, and a group of emojis. The longer he stays, the crueler it gets and finally he's desperate to get out of there. The project is a 3D low-poly design created in Cinema4D. The neon lights are used to create a slightly sinister futuristic look.
