Meet our Characters!

The first character is Ginger. She is a young, clumsy teenage girl, with tons of energy and a very playful personality. In the earlier concept art, Ginger had long hair in a ponytail. The hairstyle was later changed into a bun to make the 3D animation process easier.

The second character is a mother named Sherry. She is patient, supportive, steady, and loves to cook. I wanted the characters to contrast in appearance as much as they did in personality. Ginger is very lanky and originally drawn with sharper linework. Sherry is much shorter, broader, and drawn with more rounded linework. However, the characters are related so I kept the head, eyes, and hair color similar to each other.

Family Recipe is a CG short film produced at the school of visual Arts by Julianne Bodnar and Sandra Morgera.

The film uses a variety of programs such as Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, After Effects and rendered in Arnold 5.
