Rookie of The Year - Concept Art Entry
I am a Graphic Design student that fell in love with 3D modelig during my second year. I have a passion for creature creation but also 3D modeling in general, I am in the training stage with 4 months under my belt , so I still have some to learn.
Vodric - High Soldier Elf
The idea behind Vodric was to have the feel of "calm and collected" that you get through elfs in something like The Lord of the Rings series. He is part of my very first 3D model I made.
Hellhound - Concept
As I continued to develop my skills I started working on two ideas that I at the time was fasinated by, a sabertooth and hellhound. Having found inspirations from anything from games to cartoons. I started working and combined the two ideas together and got a resault im pretty proud of.
Sebastian - The Little Mermaid
Walt Disney Pictures, The Little Mermaid(1989) was definitely one of my favorites growing up and what's better than having inspiration from my childhood to creat the challange. The challange was for the ArtstationJam's Once Upon a Time. The idea was to create something familiar from our childhood stories.
It's definitely way out of my element of full body and cartoon like character!
Bartelo - Elderly Vampire
I was looking through some of the old illustrations of monsters like the werewolf, Frankenstein and Dracula, then I got in the thought of what if Dracula was more off animalistic side, rather than the human side. I gave a more animal look to the traditional "Dracula" and sculpted him to give a super old and tired look,
I'm wanted to give him the look of a tired and very old vampire that has been through his fair share.
Glipp - Alien Concept
I have always been facinated by the idea of the big univers and that we humans are properly not alone. Creating Glipp was something that I wanted to do for a long time, while having the quote "It's impossible to think that we are alone in the universe" at the back of my head, I wanted create a represantion on how they might look.
Graul - Elemental Creature
I created Graul as a elemental creature born out of stone and wood. The idea was to have a creature from both elements and giving a very youth look to him. At the point of this creation I also started to look more into the lightscenes in Maya, I wanted to have a "better" presentation for my creations and for this there were no better teachers than Morten and Henning from FlippedNormals
Khan - King of Monsters Universe
Being a huge fan of the monsters from the latest Godzilla cinematic and seeing Kong gave me the inspiration of creating my own monster to the universe. Khan would be in line of Kong as a half elephant, half man. Working on him has been alot of fun and trying to bring his position and the look on his face to life!
Lord of The Rings - Uruk-Hai
This is a two part project that I started working on as a means to teach myself how to create hardsurface. As a Lord of The Rings fan, making the terrefying Uruk-Hai helmet was just a natural step. The two part of the project consisted of making the trial helmet, as a teaching point, and in the end I decided to make my own.
