Portal FX Animation

I wanted to create a Magic portal FX in Houdini, but I wanted to make it my own, looking for inspiration I found that most of the 'Portal FX' have predefined styles, like Thanos portal, Blink portal by the great artist Orion, and of course Warcraft famous portal. 

I tried combining all these different FXs and styles, this was a great creative and technical challenge for me, on which I learnt a lot along the process, also a good organization of the different layers has taught me that the best results come with the right approach.

 I worked on this project for 5 weeks, the first week for brainstorm and RnD, and last week entirely for compositing in Nuke.
