Lapstle's creature event

Instagram user @lapstle is currently running an art event calling people to help create fantasy creatures for their comic. I liked the idea a lot, so I designed this creature: the Krakao. A bovine-like creature that is commonly used as a labor animal as well as for food. I started out with creating quick sketches and picked a few that I went into a little more. 

From the three on the left I picked the design I thought was most fitting in the world and used that to iterate on colours.  I found that my colour concept of number 12 matched the art direction best so I made my final reference sheet with those. 

Dragon design

I started this side project to scratch that creative itch that I cannot scratch with just my school work. Going in I knew I wanted a dragon that would be very large but had no other restrictions for myself. I spend some time making quick sketches until something stuck which led to my eventual design of "Aster". 

Sometimes drawing traditionally gives me fresh ideas so I'll include traditional sketching in my design process like I did here.

VFX concepts

I've created several different VFX concepts for the different game projects at my university: Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS). Below are concepts I've done for a VR game called "Spellbound Spire". The effect is meant to show that an object is affected by a gravity altering magic coming from the players' glove. 

These are concepts for health pickups in a co-op shooter game with a punk flair to it. The game is named "P.A.I.N.T." and is also produced at my university.

Bonus creature

This is an alien manta ray of sorts based off of the description of a creature a friend of mine saw in a dream. I hope you enjoyed seeing my work! Have a nice day :)
