The Animation of Dasha Prosyannikova
Hi! My name is Dasha and I am a recent graduate from the School of Visual Arts. I specialize in 3D character animation and enjoy making things move! Animation is a fascinating art form - in addition to creating beautiful and exciting movement, animators get a chance to explore the psychology and inner motivation of each character. Each shot provides a chance to get to know them better. With my work, I hope to bring memorable characters to life and teach the audience a little bit about their psychology.
3D Animation Reel
For my first project, I'd like to show you my 3D animation reel. This is a collection of projects I've worked on during my time at SVA and includes personal work, class projects, and the shots I worked on for my classmates' thesis films.
Project Firebird
Firebird is my senior thesis film created at the School of Visual Arts. The story follows a figure skater's performance and her encounter with her worst nemesis - untied shoelaces. Through carefully-chosen choreography, vibrant colors, and exciting music, Firebird tells the story of perseverance and determination. This project combines my passion for psychology, physics, and visual and performing arts.
Project Wear a Mask!
This project was created with two of my former classmates, Daniela Dwek and Kayleen Acosta, as a response to Covid 19. This project was created over the course of 5 days. I animated the 20 second short over the course of 3 days. In order to highlight the differences between the two characters, I changed their movements to fit their personalities. It was so exciting to explore the reactions of the characters!
Thank you so much for your time!
