The Seven Deadly Sins
This project was my final project during my Masters in Concept art. The lore was created to fill one of my favourite topics which is The 7 Deadly Sins and it reads like this. "What if the 7 Deadly sins found a way to incarnate themselves during the 6th Century. Divided amongst the kingdom in different occupations in
The 1st character of the project I developed, inspired by the seven deadly sins. Gluttony is usually paired with eating too much so I decided to go with something among the lines of Alcoholism and how the tavern keeper drew the citizens a step closer to the sins of wine by drowning their sorrows into the dark pit of gluttony.
This is the 2nd character of the project. His design is based on Pride's indifferent behaviour. A Bailiff who thinks anyone outside the royal army is not worthy enough to even exist. Teaches his soldiers to spare no one and divide the two worlds between blue and red blooded people even more.
This is the 3rd character of the project I developed, inspired by the seven deadly sins. Envy is usually connected with jealousy of other people’s possessions. With this design I decided to go with a fortune teller who feeds upon other people’s restlessness and spreads lies covered with thin leather called predictions in order to bring discord to the kingdom.
This is the 4th character of the project I developed, inspired by the seven deadly sins. Greed, the eternal enemy of Charity. Investing in people’s weak minds, infesting their thoughts with egoism and destroying the bridges of human philanthropy. Making them want more for their-selves. For this design I decided to go with a merchant who curses and destroys other people’s gracious feelings and spreads individuality and greed, masked behind shiny gems and merchandise.
This is the 5th character of the project I developed, inspired by the seven deadly sins. Lust, the sin of limitless passion and longing desires. Manipulating the boundless needs humans have to fulfil their nonspiritual desires, controlling their actions and crushing their ideals by pulling them towards in-humane actions no matter the way or cost. For this design I decided to go with a cleric who forgives cruelty and forbids compassionate thoughts towards other people. Encouraging sadistic behaviour while hiding behind her mantle and fine linen fabric wrapped around her body.
This is the 6th character that I developed for my project, inspired by the seven deadly sins. Wrath is my favourite one out of all 7. The sin of uncontrollable rage and blind hatred. The unstable and eternal wish to seek vengeance towards your enemies. Usually born by the lack of love and serenity in the world. This often leads towards actions that initiate hatred and vendettas between human beings that last for centuries. For this design I decided to go with the role of the executioner who is blindly beheading both guilty and innocent people to the name of Wrath. Scattering fear to anyone present and all over the kingdom.
Last but not least. This is the 7th character that concludes my fantasy project inspired by the seven deadly sins. Sloth is the sin that decided to step aside and depart from the other 6. As a giant he left the evil plan behind. Convincing himself that it is better to do nothing and stay in his cave for eternity.
