This is a reconstruction of the ancient Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan Mexico. I've only been using 3D software for barely a year so this project was a big challenge, but I was really inspired to do it.

This is a project I've been working on for the past 4 months. It's a digital reconstruction of the Pyramid of the Sun in the ancient city of Teotihuacan in Mexico. I was inspired by my Latin American Art History class where we learned about this ancient city. There is two other pyramids in this city, but I chose to recreate the "district" of the Pyramid of the Sun which is the largest of the three. There is very little known about this city and it was difficult finding research for it, however my professor for the class helped me find some resources at our library.  I've only been using 3D software for almost a year now, and learning from videos, but this project has a been a great opportunity to test myself while also learning on the way.

My goal and inspiration for this project was to bring life back into a once booming and lively city that was ahead of it's time, yet lost to it.

Enjoy!

The Two Stela(Obelisks) in the top shrine of the pyramid (Rendered in Blender).

It's unknown what these Stela were used  for, but believed to be used for ceremonies and religious practice.
