Entry for theRookies awards.
This is my entry for TheRookies of the year. All project's were done in Blender and edited in Gimp2.
First project's name is Goblin warrior. Project was made entirely in Blender, from sculpting to retopology, texture painting and rendering. Character have 70k polys. Process was done in 2 weeks. First I blocked out shapes and proceeded with sculpting, just to get shapes right and ready for retopology. After retopology I projected that high poly mesh of 500k polys to low poly model with shrink wrap modifier. That way I got mid details onto low poly model. After that I used multiresolution modifier on lowpoly mesh to add more details after every subdivision. After final subdivision I sculpted pores and wrinkles with alphas imported into the Blender. Multiresolution modifier is good for baking maps because you sculpt all details onto preexisting model so its easier for Blender to bake maps from high poly to low. I baked Normal map, Diffuse map, Pointiness map to combine with diffuse map for better looking crevisis. Ambient occlusion map also helps for better looking diffuse map. Also baked roughness and specular map. On his skirt I used Blender's particle system for hair. Weapon and shield was modeled in Blender's edit mode.
Name of second project is Troll. Process is more or less the same.
Third project is fan art of anime character Hidan from Naruto shippuden.
For clothing to look more realistic I used Blender's cloth simulation in addition with some sculpting.
Fourth project is Plague doctor.
