I spent much of the past year creating concept artwork and character designs for my final year project, Uplink, a game cinematic in Unreal Engine 4. Exploring the spacey, utilitarian aesthetic of this project was a treasure - I got to produce a lot of fun designs and develop my mechanical design abilities. I ended up creating 3D models of some of these designs, which you can view in my 3D portfolio.
Aside from my work on Uplink, I also helped out another graduating student team at Hertfordshire, providing concept art and digital matte painting for their short film Bygone.
I was asked by another student team at Herts to produce some spaceship designs and eventually some greebly detailed paintovers of a base model for a VFX short they were working on - had a lot of fun here, another opportunity to work out mechanical shapes and forms.
As busy as university has kept me, I've tried to find time to do more personal artwork every now and then to keep new ideas flowing.
