Here's some of my work in the field of Concept Art, and something I did in regards to 2D Animation. I'm still a beginner, but I strive to be better.

Character Designs

This section is work I've done based on brief (or boredom) to create interesting characters with clothing and armour that doesn't weirdly sexualize them.
This is one of the characters I play for DND. A paladin following the deity of Mana, I used realistic-ish knight armour based off of medieval times, and then emblazoned the Mana sigil on areas on her shoulder pad, armour and headband.

This is the other character I play in a DND game. She's a playful and somewhat mischievious tabaxi sorcerer, and kind of an airhead- so I took this a bit literally and made it so she's floating; she's not very grounded.

For these set of drawings, my university gave me a brief; redesign a medieval creature. I chose the Siren, who can be portrayed as half human and half bird, or half human and half fish. I wanted to do both though, so I took elements of the Red and Black Oscar Tiger fish for the Siren's tail, and the Red Bearded Vulture for the Siren's face.

This character is a play on the idea of the 'Avatar' from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Rather than being able to bend / control the different main elements, this character has components of each element as part of her body.

The brief for this was to create a steampunk ninja. I drew up a bunch of different designs and poses, but my best was the top left one. The design and pose fits most of what I wanted the ninja to be: swift, elegant but cautious.

Here's the ninja painted as well as I could at the time.

These drawings were me trying to work out what a steampunk geisha would look like.

And this is what I came up with. One of my weaknesses at this point in time (early last year) was that I had a lot of, as my teacher described it, 'fury' in my art, but no real control. I have worked on this since, as can be seen in the art up above, as well as others towards the bottom.

The brief for the next two drawings is the exploration of what a sci-fi dystopic world would look like- in my case I wanted it to be framed around a game where you navigate the world while trying to escape from the metal serpents. I was in a weirdly painter-y mood around this time, exploring a lot with textures.

This is a very old piece of work, but one that I'm kinda proud of regardless. I trying to encompass the idea of a game where you are choked and chased by the negative feelings and the hatred that you feel for yourself. The weird monster design could totally use some work, but I think I captured that feeling.

Studies

These were studies I did in order to improve elements of my art. The things I cared about most to improve were animals, and humans.

This is a study I did of a toy bird. It looks more magical than it actually was, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

This is a study of my late cat. The main goal here was to capture that human-like smile he always seemed to have.

Here's a study of the great Martha Jones from Doctor Who (Freema Agyeman)

And here's another of my better human studies. It still looks painterly, but I am getting closer to realism, I hope.

Here's some studies I did of feet at the behest of my teacher.

Animation I did for Anthony Ants Robinson's Tinker And Spell

This was a behemoth of a task to make. Being the first piece of proper video game animation work I've done, I'm pretty happy with where I got with it. So much respect for Anthony, both for the work he does, and also for teaching me so much about animating and giving great general tips for art.
