Simon Pinsdorf - Texturing/Sculpting/Modeling

Lizard

I started to work on my demoreel with this lizard. I wanted to start easy but this turned out to be my biggest project. Sculpting is the most fun for me but all the scales were still a big pain even with self made brushes. I started to like mari while working even if its more complex and takes longer, when i was done with texturing i prefered it over substance painter.

This project felt like a real production because i worked together with friends who specialized in other aspects. So thanks to Miria Kutzner for the beautiful rig, to Joshua Klumb for the cool animation, Marvin Huth for the lighting and special thanks to Mirco Tornow for great compositing.

Face

I wanted my second project to be a human so i just started to sculpt a female basemesh until i was satisfied. But i didnt use any reference images so the shapes kept looking more and more like a female version of myself. For texturing i used xnormals to project differend texturing xyz face scans and mari to refine everything. I switched from redshift to arnold for this project for better sub surface scattering results.

Marvin Huth did a great job lighting this for me and Mirco Tornow composited it into a cool backgound.

Room

I wanted to end my demoreel with a small project. I didn´t plan on what to do but i left myself two weeks before the schools demo deadline. At the end I finished this small idea in one week and had another to fix small things on my whole demoreel.

Exept for compositing i did this project on my own, so thanks again to Mirco Tornow for his amazing post production work.

Demoreel 2020

Porcorosso Sea Plane

I did this project as a weekly drill on my own two months after school. I loved the Ghibli movie Porcorosso so much that i wanted to recreate the main plane. Working on this simple plane was so much fun and it even made me like substance paiter again.
