Your Data is Showing

Your Data Is Showing is an absurd comedy infomercial about data privacy made by a team of eight 2nd year Character Animation & CG Art students at The Animation Workshop.

The short was made following a brief from the NGO EDRi,  European Digital Rights, who wanted something "quirky" to reach a different audience than their usual demographic. 

At some point this 30 sec short had a cast of up to 25 characters - and a dog!

With two weeks for modelling and three weeks for rigging, our 4-man team of CG artists had to work really hard - and smart - to design, model, and rig the characters of "Your Data is Showing". 

Eventually the cast was cut down to 19 characters and we came up with a system of 6 "hero" body types that could be dressed up for each scene with different hair and costumes. To save time on rigging, Juli Shvets, who was TD, scripted an auto rigger for the whole team to use.
