Serpent of The Sky
A group project for college. My team were called 'Teh on Ais', a parody of how Malaysians ordered iced tea. The story is set in a viking-inspired kingdom and it is about a princess who befriended a dragon and a king who was manipulated by his advisor to take and use the dragon for destruction.Character Design
Anna Gunvidottir
The princess; caretaker who was banished from the kingdom because of false accusations from the advisor. Has a comforting feel, like a warm flame.

Prop Design
Dragon Scale Dagger
An enchanted dagger made from the dragon's scales. It will let the advisor control the dragon if she stabs him with this dagger.
Sacrificial Ritual Coffin
A coffin used to transport the animal they would sacrifice in the kingdom's rituals. They usually use a warthog, hence the warthog motif on top of the coffin.

Sacrificial Ritual Room
The room where an annual ritual is held, which is a huge event in the kingdom. I made a 3D model to help me in the rendering stage. The stone altar was designed and made by my teammate, Lucas Soo.

The Captured Dragon
In this scene, the dragon has been captured by the king and his men. The dragon struggles against them violently, breaking his chains and trashing the surroundings.First, I did a mind map to see what I want to do more clearly and then I did some thumbs for the composition and overall colors.

A set of designs with cyberpunk theme. Set in a rough neighborhood where there is a big underground fighting ring.

Rei
A hardy orphan who lived a harsh life in the streets before being taken in by a gym owner. Now she is rising in renown as one of the fiercest fighters in the underground ring.

Kuro

A handy (pun intended) weapon to have when living in a dangerous neighborhood like Rei's. Delivers a powerful shock to your opponents that may paralyze them temporarily.

The Huntress
A set of stylized designs with inspiration from medieval french. It is about a noblewoman who ran away from her suffocating household into the woods, where she became a huntress.

Gale

An ornate family heirloom that she stole as she ran away from home. It is old, but Meli still keeps it around because it has a lot of sentimental value for her.

Vehicle Design
Carriage
A simple wooden carriage that Meli put together. She uses it to carry around her tools as well as transporting her goods to town to sell. It is decorated with a bear skin, a trophy from one of her hunts.

The Mysterious Misadventures of Andara & Anita
My personal project. A set of character designs for an imaginary monster-of-the-week animated show that is set in 1920s Colonial Indonesia. The story revolves around a pair of twins with psychic powers, who could see and meddle in the spirit realm. They would go around Batavia (Indonesia's capital city back then) and solve various mysterious paranormal cases.
I am very interested in south-east asian creatures and myths because I grew up hearing about them. They were such a big part of the culture and all of them has such weird and interesting features, it is a shame we do not see them more often in media.
Early Exploration Line-Up (Humans)
At first, I wanted to focus more on the human characters and make something like the mystery gang from Scooby Doo.
Characters that were cut was a food-stall man who also works as an informant and a little girl who is the daughter of a dutch soldier residing in Batavia. (because Indonesia was colonized by the Dutch)
Andara
Has stronger psychic powers, but much more fragile mentally. A quiet, timid introvert who is easily pushed around. Is currently studying medicine at a dutch-curriculum college.
Anita
A bright, strong woman who is planning to take over their family's textile business. In between her training, she would accept interesting cases and bring them to her brother so that they can solve it together.
Mbah Slamet
A wise man who guides the twins. He has known then since they were kids and treats them as if they were his grandchildren.
Monsters
Various 'monsters' which the twins would face throughout the series. They are all based on real myths from Indonesia.
