Alo, Emil here. A concept art student from The One Academy I am very interested in character, and environment concept design. And here are the projects I did in my school. Hope you enjoy them :)
Born into a poor family, Qing’s only desire was to live a happy life with her loved ones in their idyllic fishing village. However, fate seems to play a cruel trick on her: grieved by the untimely death of her father, she sets off on a desperate quest to bring his soul back to the living world. Her journey will take her through the layers and depths of hell, far beyond anything she could ever start to imagine…….Guided by the hand of Guan Yin, will Qing be able to learn what family really means to her, and let go of the past to embrace the future?
Hai Qing, a poor girl who lives in a small fishing village. Since her mother passed away when she was just a child, she grew up heavily relying on her father.
As such, her father is the person she cherishes most in the world, besides her brother. Qing is a loyal and spirited girl who would do anything to protect those she loves.
Bird Breeder, a wizened man who breeds birds, most notably cormorants which are used by some fishermen to help with fishing.
Shadow, a powerful supernatural being that comes from Hai Qing. As Hai Qing traverses the Underworld, fragments of her soul slowly detaches from her.
In turn, these lost soul fragments combine into one to form the Shadow; a negative reflection of Hai Qing.
A bracelet made of sea glass and seashells by Hai Teng, Hai Qing’s younger brother. It was given as a gift to Hai Qing by her brother.
A boat that is used by fishermen who does cormorant fishing which is using a bird to fish. Often do the fishermen use the boat to help breed the birds. The boat is made of bamboo and is separated into two platforms connected by bamboo canes. The roof is made of hay and a small net is placed at the back of the boat.
An old floating temple near the fishing village where Qing’s family lives. Visitors can experience a sense of peace and tranquility as they hear the bamboo leaves whispering in the breeze or watch the ripples of the water. As Qing’s parents were devout, they frequently came here together to pray and leave offerings.
