Character modeling and texturing

by gabiprz on 7 May 2020 for Rookie Awards 2020

These are personal projects. Two of them are based on Ryan Gllan's concept. My purpose was to improve in modeling stylized characters for video games. The last one, the scooter, was a model I made in the UA School master.

These two characters are based on the same concept artist, Ryan Gllan. https://www.artstation.com/ryan1004

They are characters of a stylized style, it is the style that I feel most comfortable working.

The programs I have used are Zbrush for highpoly, 3dsmax for retopology and UVW, Substance painter for bake and texturing, and Marmoset for rendering.

ELF WARRIOR

This first character I did everything in zbrush except the sword. With the sword I first made a lowpoly in 3dsmax and then I made the details in zbrush.

I also wanted to do a little animation (I'm not a rigger or an animator :)) but I wanted to give it a try to try new things. The rig and animation are made in blender.

The total tris are 46021.

ENGIREER

I made this character with the same workflow as the previous one. This time I did not do any rig, I did the pose in Zbrush.

The total tris are 51000.

SCOOTER LAMBRETTA

This is an old project I did in the UA School master.

It is all modeled on 3dsMax. It has 2 uvw sets. It is textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset.
