Final Year Project - Aftermath Recreation

The project was heavily inspired by Silvia Lawson-Vilches scene 'Aftermath'. I usually create scenes that are set outside so this project really pushed my skills.

The majority of the modelling for this project was in Maya and where more organic models had to be created, ZBrush was used. As Quixel Mixer has recently been updated for texturing 3D models, I thought i'd give it a go. Mixer was used for all of the texturing within the scene as it can be used to create high quality textures with ease. All vegetation comes from the Megascans libary and this helped massively for this project, especially for the moss. It's been a pleasure to try and recreate the scene from one of my favourite artists and I hope I can create even better scenes in the future.

For rendering I used Redshift, having used the renderer previosuly I was aware of how fast it was and what its limits were. It's great to be able to see your render in a matter of mintes as it allowed me to make changes easily.
