In Indian culture, it is believed that snakes do not attack unless protecting a artifact. Shesha Naga is widely known in Indian culture to devoting it's life in protecting Lord Vishnu, a god who protects the universe from being destroyed.

Flat Colour Base
Just a quick colour theory test, in this stage I wanted to see what temple colours best fit with the giant serpent in-conjunction with the surrounding environment. Next stage is adding basic shadows and lighting.

Temple Block-out
A quick, rough block-out in Maya. This will assist me in creating the temple shapes as a guidance for a paint-over as well as setting up lighting in Marmoset Toolbag.

Thumbnail Concept
Thumbnail sketch, I wanted to experiment around the battle scene and ended up liking the composition. I will probably end up adding more detail in the temple.

Shesha Naga - Reference Board
Some reference I have gathered for my entry. I have pick temples with contrasting colours to the albino serpent, in addition my plan is to pick strong shapes from a variety of different temples and merge them into my main chosen temple, Konark Temple in Odisha.
