Summer Skate Movie Adventure
A band of bad to the bone skaters are on the quest to create a totally tubular skate film in the summer of 85! Their goal? To film the most gnarly of tricks, flips, pop shuvits and cheese nuggets! Whether they have the permission or skill to do so won't stop them!
Update - 2 Nov 2019
I think I might call it a day here, this project was fun. Blender is a very powerful programme and I've enjoyed learning how to use it!
Update - 29 Oct 2019
I've been making adjustments to the face model and skin texture with the addition of small cuts and scrapes. Still working on the composition.
Update - 23 Oct 2019
I modelled and textured a camcorder, thinking about adding someone filming. I've also been making tweaks to the character model.
Update - 16 Oct 2019
I've been grooming the hair and exploring some lighting options.
I modelled and textured a boombox.
I created hills in the background using displacements and a light mist.
Update - 11 Oct 2019
The first test render, I need to work on the skin texture as it looks slightly artificial, I sill want to generate some hills in the background, the lighting is just a HDRI so I will be exploring more lighting possibilities and I also want to incorporate a few props around the park to make it feel more alive.
Some of the texture maps.
I haven't explored much of blender until recently, especially the hair dynamic tools but it's been fun using them to groom the hair although I still need to learn how to render it! I started by sketching some ideas of what the hair might look like, it still needs a bit of work.
Update - 10 Oct 2019
Finishing up the modelling and finalizing the layout, also some logos I've designed during texturing. I have also been studying graffiti as it will cover most of the park.
Update - 14 Sep 2019
I've started to gather some relevant images (not my own) I have also started to sketch out some ideas of possible scenes.

Righteous Summer Skate Movie Adventure.

After mind mapping some ideas I settled on the skate film adventure, I like the idea of showcasing the crazy activities and projects kid take on during summer. My main inspirations being, “It” and “Stranger Things” also “Back to the Future” specifically the scene were Marty turns some kids scooter into a skateboard, the film came out in 85 and would be the main inspiration for the kids in this project to make their film.
I want to make a scene that shows this story, showing the film making process or even through the lens of the camera. Still thinking about the location.
