Emily Thomas - University Of South Wales
These were all created in my final year of university. These were a lot of fun to work on and has helped me a lot to develop my skills and understanding of 3D characters. As I have a keen interest in character art, I decided to push myself to create 2 next gen character for my final major project 2019.
Child's Play
Time: January - May 12 weeks
Software: Zbrush, 3DS Max, Maya, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, Marmoset Toolbag 3.
This scene was created for my final third year project at the University of South Wales. I decided on these two characters as a way to challenge myself to produce two game ready characters that could be for an adventure game.
Popeye
Time: September - November 6 Weeks
Software: Zbrush, 3DS Max, Substance Painter, Arnold Renderer, Photoshop.
This was another projected created at the beginning of third year. The idea behind this piece was based on the comic book cover 'Popeye' where I 3D modelled popeye and had the background where it looked like he was bursting through the comic book world into the real world.
University of South Wales has taught me so much as when I first started my course I had no idea about the games industry or how to even model a box. It has been such a great experience and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to study the course.
