Conceptual Art Through The Years

Keelin MacGregor
by KRMacGregor on 31 May 2019 for Rookie Awards 2019

This is all my digital conceptual art done for college and university, so since I decided to take this career path. Going through the list you go back through my work chronologically.

My final concept for a comic character, below is my conceptual work in the order I created it - thumbnails, then silhouettes, then finally individual concepts based on silhouettes. I've also included a single page from the comic to show how this character translates.

This was created earlier this year for a project at the University of Hertfordshire.

Small golem characters created for a game design document for a game where you control two characters at once. Below are silhouettes and primary concepts. I wish I had time to go through the conceptual stage longer  as I only really explored one option but I do like the final designs.

A character created last year for my college final major project. Below are my conceptual images in the order created - thumbnails, primary, secondary and tertiary concepts.

Concepts for an armoured female created after seeing the armour collection in the Wallace museum. The focus here was on colouring in clothing and armour in a semi-realistic way. Below are the sketches I made and then the primary and secondary conceptual images created before the final.

Concept art made for my first game design document I created over a year ago. There is only one stage of concepts as this was around when I first started getting into conceptual art.

This was my final major project for my first year in college. This is pretty much the first 'professional' conceptual art I did. I only have clothing concepts for this character, who was meant to be based on high fashion clothing from designers like Vivienne Westwood.
