Round of applause for our sponsors

Hi, I am Sashya Halse and I am a 2019 graduate of Master of Design Technology at the Miramar Campus of Victoria University, Wellington. This showreel is a collection of my best character animation work that I have done mostly in the last year. I hope you enjoy my animation and thank you for watching.

Showreel Breakdown

00:02 - 00:10   Realistic Facial Animation

This project is aimed to animate the facial animation of the character to be as close as possible to the chosen reference. This animation is created using full keyframe animations including the details and muscles movement using the limited controls provided by the rig.

Rig: Eisko's Louise Rig                 Render: Pixar's Renderman

00:10 - 00:36   Creature Animation (Hidden - Short film)

"Hidden" is a team production created as a thesis project for Master of Design Technology's students. In this production, my role was as a lead character animator, where aside from animating assigned shots I also researched, test and develop the motions of the characters. The shots included are my favourite shots I animated for this short film.

Rig: The Creature Rig  By. Hidden Team

00:36 - 00:50   Dragon Animation

This animation project was made to explore the locomotion of a dragon. To create this dragon's animation I explored and researched the locomotion of lizards and bats, to become the reference and inspiration of its motion.

Rig: Maya Dragon Rig  By. Truong CG

00:50 - 00:56   Action Animations

These animations were animated by using martial arts and parkour as its references with the aim of recreating realistic human motion and studying human body mechanics in the process.

Rig: Body Mechanic Rigs  By Joe Daniels

00:56 - 01:03   Tiger Walkcycle

The aim of this project was to study the locomotion of a quadruped walk. I created this animation by studying references of a tiger walking from different angles as well as seeing the animal at the zoo to study its motions in real life.

Rig: Tiger Rig  By. CG Spectrum

01:03 - 01:15   Cartoony Character Animation

This Animation was created as an assignment for AnimSchool's class, where the aim is to create a full body acting animation from a chosen audio clip. In this project, I was aiming to create a semi-realistic animation with an appealing acting choice. It was a great experience to be able to shot my own reference and explored the possible acting choice for this animation.
