Bladerunner 2049 inspired scene.

Round of applause for our sponsors

My first personal attempt to ArchViz. I wanted to create the scene inspired by one of my favorite movies Bladerunner 2049, although I tried to just be inspired of it rather than copying exact same atmosphere and lighting that Roger Deakins has perfectly achieved.

I have started the project about 2 months ago and due to my current schedule big chunk of it was made in during my 40 min train journey to work.  I am happy I managed to submit it on time but knowing myself being a pedantic and too often perfectionist it is a bit painful to upload it with so many of its flaws...

Because I hadn't much time and energy to polish it I am overall satisfied with the end result and really glad that I joined the challenge!

Most of the shots were made using anamorphic camera lens, from what I know the same were used to film both Bladerunners.

I created the bamboo trees with Maya paint brushes. Even though they provide really nice presets, it took me a lot of tweaks and adjustments to achieve a desired look of the tree.

It took me so long to get a desired caustics effect these project was a pretty much caustics case study for me. Not to mention the render times. My Aero 15 did not let me down with this one, although I felt sorry for it hah.

Thanks for your time viewing my project. I hope you like it and please, feel free to comment and most importantly throw some critique and feedback at it!
