I'm Nolann, a 19yo CGI Environment Generalist. 2023 was my last school year so here are my best personnal projects.

Antithesis (2023)

The graduation project of my final school year.
I imagined a psychic phenomenon called "Antithesis Phase".
A kind of second state where the unconscious takes over and start to create and assemble landscapes without any sense.
It can be an illustration of the creation stage.

This year, my biggest ennemy was time, next to my studies I did lots of cool projects, like CGI Environments, Compositing, my first on set VFX-Supervision... So I needed a solid & efficient workflow to complete my work as quickly as possible.

I decided to use Houdini Solaris, Blender and Unreal. The USD Pipepline offered me compatibility between the softwares while Blender and Unreal helped me to quickly set dressed my scenes with shorts render times.

I also used hand made 3D Scans, when I was hiking I've captured several 3D models then I used them in my scenes.

Dr. Strange (2022)

My second year final project. This was the first time I used USD pipe in Solaris.

I fully proceduraly modeled the street in Houdini (except for some assets like the cars that I found on sketchfab).

Star Wars Environment Concept

The spaceship was modeled in Maya w/ Janis Benoit & Antoine Danion. All other aspects were done & assembled in Houdini.

Haussman Procedural Building (2022)

My goal was to recreate procedurally a typical Parisian building in Houdini.

Lefa "Mauvais" remake (2021)

I chose a frame from the music video "Mauvais" by Lefa (directed by Akim Laouar) and decided to remake it in 3D.

I've made all aspects for this render. The modeling, lighting, shading & rendering were done in Maya with Arnold.

For the silouhette, I used PIFuHD to get a base mesh with the right pose, next I cleaned the model in ZBrush.

The compositing was done in Nuke.
