Here is some of the work That I did on the shortmovie (you have the detail of what I've done on the bottom left)

RAZOR CREST

The Razor Crest project is a realistic personal project in progress, based on the universe of Star wars. My goal with this project is to recreate an asset of Star wars The Mandalorian (The Razor Crest) and integrate it in a realistic environment.

For now all of the renders are raw from Renderman and Mantra and the environment has only albedo work.

Later the Lighting and Compositing will be mastered by the talented Armand Gaucheron.

Here is a little breakdown of my process. I always start with simple shapes, without thinking about technical part such as the topology. Then I work on this blocking to refine each part of the ship.

For the texturing I used Substance Painter and Renderman. I worked with the Layer system of renderman to create an unique shader with Metal / Dirt / Paint Part.

I'm not specialized in rigging but I like to work on every part of a project, so I did a simple rig that will have enough controllers to helps me doing the animation. For exemple, the back landing gear is made of IK, so it helps me to put it everywhere I want and with a pole vector, I can easily adjust the orientation of it.

Here is the development of the environment in Houdini. The first render is just a previz from Mantra. All of the assets are made in speedtree and textured with photoshop (a simple 4k texture including some leaves photos and an alpha)

I started to work on a scattering system that helps me having some little plants under the trees. The idea is to keep a procedural way of working, so when I will have to make some other shots it will be faster and easier.

Then I use a vellum simulation to make some wind or some forces coming from the landing ship. with the existed scatter of the plants, I created some sphere that will take in the base of each plants, I use this information to pin it, so it will not move.

Thanks for taking the time to read me !
