3D character projects Mathieu Mistler
Hi everyone, this is my first entry at the Rookies Awards. I selected some of my personal works from this past year to enter the contest. All these project are 3D adaptations of awesome 2D concepts I found mostly on artstion.
Pirate Girl
My latest personel project, I made this project from an amazing concept art from Mathias Osland 's project : Pistris.
I really enjoyed adapting this concept in 3D, I had to think how to make a stylised character in the most efficient way in texturing and sculpting without making the character too heavy on polygons. It was made in a little less than 1 month, and it has 39, 513 polygons without the hair.
Mustard Knight
The most fun character I worked on. I choose to adapt one of the wonderful illustration of Justin Gerard. I learned a lot about making something as shapeless as mustard in a character that look alive and in movement. I really wanted to recreate the impression that this character could come straight from a storybook but still be belivable in 3D.
Candle Knight
This is the first personnel project I made after I graduated from my Master's degree at Universal Art school.
This project is based on the work of Gaƫlle Mazeau--Triaut.
I wanted to challenge myself and make this character as quickly as posible. It took me a little more than two weeks to get it down and it has 31 249 polygons.
