Cathedral Ward
An environment that has a dark, medieval, gothic fantasy theme. The environment and theme are inspired by the games "Bloodborne", "Dark Souls" and "Elden Ring". The whole game is set in a dark, medieval mood and gives the player a story as and when the player moves along in the game.
I decided to create an environment that has a dark, medieval, gothic fantasy theme. The environment and theme are inspired by the games "Bloodborne", "Dark Souls" and "Elden Ring". The whole game is set in a dark, medieval mood and gives the player a story as and when the player moves along in the game. I want to focus on a more photorealistic but a little stylized look for my environment.
I started off with modeling in Maya and textured the models using Substance Painter and Substance Designer. Using Unreal Engine 5, I brought in my 3D models and created materials using blueprints. I also created a material for the metal pots using Substance Designer. I used Volumetric lighting for my entire scene and made the particles of smoke and magical particles in the scene using Niagara systems. I have also focused on lighting using Lumens in my scene.
