"Chiara" 3D NPR Character

Hello everyone! Today I bring to you a stylized 3D character, based off the character "Chiara" from a game called "Black Survival". I decided to do this project so I could show everything I've learned over the last few years and practice the 3D character modeling workflow, and I feel confident enough to share the results! I created everything with Blender, from the modeling, to texturing, and even the character rigging!

Right below is the concept art I utilized, I originally found it off Pinterest but found a higher quality version off a community post from the game on Steam, I tried to emulate the concept art as closely as possible.

The video below shows off the final product and even has a brief animation I was able to make just a few hours before the deadline, I really cut it close there, whoops!

Below are the textures that I hand painted. Would you believe me if I told you this was my first time texture painting a 3D model? Because it was, and I'm quite proud of the result! Though I did use some of the original textures from the concept for the higher quality details, such as the gemstone.

The whole character was made by hand via box modeling, I chose this method over sculpting to better control the normals and emulate the NPR style, plus, I didn't have to retopologize anything!

Anyways, that's all I have to show! I didn't quite have enough time to record the rigging process, but I assure you, it was quite arduous!
