Super Shining Flash 2000

Introduction

Hi! my name is Hugo Lagier and I'm presenting to you the project I worked on for my diploma at my art school (Pivaut school).

My goal here was to recreate a kind of opening for a fictive animated serie called :Super Shining Flash 2000 .

Retrostyle references from the 80-90's guided the overall look of my work . Indeed, these years were caracterized by some"no-limit" spirit, an exageration in the use of special effects, reflection, music that fitted perfectly my needs: to create something cool and kind of exciting to look at.

Thus, I aimed to play with some "cliche" and recurrences in the genre. Equally, Formula 1 was a good subject to play with in the extent that it brings an idea of speed and competition on its own. Furthermore, cars in general are very recurrent in 90s films and animated series.

In the work itself, i decided to use both 2D and 3D elements trying to conserve the expressiveness of the line merged with the fluidity/practicality of the 3d .That was quiet challenging !
