Stephanie Borg: Game Development
Hi my name is Stephanie and I'm an Honours graduate of CDW Studios and Flinders University. My main focuses are Concept Art, 3D Modelling and Interface Design. I'm passionate in creating thoughtful and detailed environments and incorporating different areas of my creative practices.
Helianthus
Menu and Loading Screens
Featured below are 3 Loading/Menu screens inspired by a variation of video games using personal assets, paintings and designs from my Honours Project. All 3 videos share the same connecting story and exist in the "Helianthus" realm.
See Concept Art entry.
As a part of a side project I designed and modelled swords inspired by weaponry from the video game Elden Ring. This further encouraged me to experiment in After Effects and create a Skyrim inspired loading screen.
Smoke Effect: Youtube
Viridescent meaning "greenish" or "becoming green", inspired by the natural elements and details featured on the rapier.
This loading screen is inspired by a map I designed containing major locations seen in my other art pieces for my Honours Project. I saw this as an opportunity to continue contributing to world building and strengthening my narrative. The style of this loading screen is influenced by video games like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider.
Dust Particles and Ink: Youtube
This menu screen features art deco details and linework inspired by personal world building assets. As a part of my Honours Project I designed numerous banners that represented unique locations that exist in the "Helianthus" realm.
I selected the elven inspired banners to incorporate and expand into a main menu design. The elves play a key part in the narrative, and featuring their motifs is an effective way to encourage players to explore the signs of the elves in the world from the beginning.
Dust Particles and Fire Embers : Youtube
These banners were designed with the intention of being representative of an elvish kingdom and to appear in its environment. The designs were inspired by art deco patterns, architecture and classic book covers.
Ivory of the Mist, an elven city in the mountains so reclusive it has fallen into myth. Intended as a zone found through exploration.
